Most of you look at Amira and see a cute (if not loud) little girl. Sometimes troublesome, but mostly sweet.

I look at her and see Evel Knievel reincarnated.

Of all the "Little Miss" series, Judy bought her "Little Miss Daredevil". See... she sees it too!

Kids like this should come with a warning. Or a t-shirt.

Dot & baby David's photo shoot!

Here he is at 8 days. What a cutie!

A cute "Mum I'm hungry!" moment... he was trying to eat her shoulder!

Dot looking like she belongs in a parenting magazine...!

This last picture is my favourite by far. It looks great in black and white, too!

Hope you all enjoyed the pictures! :)

Another high speed weekend at the Gunn residence! No time for drink breaks, so Amira packs the Camelback and she's ready to go!

First up... Mt Lofty. To our utter amazement, Zac did the whole thing on foot by himself! It's 1,000m high, and a 7.4km round trip!! Of course we stopped for lunch at the top.

If Zac was a little mountain goat that day -

I was the pack horse!

After all that exercise I needed a swim to stretch out my aching legs.

We met up with another friend + dog and had a great evening!

Tayla nearly inhaling a tennis ball in her enthusiasm...

Amira shows her true colours and runs around with a bucket on her head...

It was beautiful, warm weather too, and there were even a few horses and a seal out enjoying the late sun.

After all that, you'd be tired too, wouldn't you?

(If not, try carrying Amira up Mt Lofty!!)

It's been hot again here.

We bathed the kids outside for a change! I love these plastic baby baths. They are just so useful - they make great laundry baskets and eskies, too!

Amira in bubbles.

Lastly, my little fairy!

This photo took a while, I had to play with layer blend modes and filter effects to get her having this ethereal sort of glow. The next step is to put her in a garden instead of the paving outside!
I normally prefer natural, candid shots but it's good to experiment and learn new techniques. The kids love dressing up too!
Congratulations to Dorothy and Peter on their new arrival!

And a big welcome to David, born on Monday weighing 3.7kg and 50cm.

Exciting news - meet Roxy!!!

Roxy is a purebred Ridgeback and due in late March, and we are hoping for one of the puppies!

Hopefully he/she will be a best friend for Tayla. We will update as she progresses!

Guess who's nearly ready to pop....!!!!!!

Dot, making overdue look glamorous. :)

Here's hoping for some good news soon!
Hello... well I know you've all been waiting for it... the girl's weekend away!

The four of us catch up once a week for lunch with our eight children, which is fun but chaotic.

It took us four years to wonder what would happen if we ever had the opportunity to finish a conversation without being interrupted by the kids.

So we booked the flights, packed our bags, and took off for Perth to find out! We went bike riding, beer drinking, shopping, fishing, and spent copious amounts of time either talking or reading our books.

Divine!!!! At the airport waiting to escape Adelaide...

View from Kings Park on our first evening.

Catching our dinner...

Biggest marron ever!! (I nearly fell in netting one much to everyone's amusement!)

View from 'the shack' where we stayed. It was beautiful.

Not sure whether I would have wanted Amira climbing up this tree house without a harness. But isn't it stunning!

When it was time to go home the consensus was - "just one more day please!"

Kirst was away for the weekend so it was just Dad and the kids for a couple of days. What better way to start the weekend than heading down to the beach Friday arvo! Grandma came along to assist with crowd control.

Having set a few temperature records in Adelaide over the last few weeks, including the most consecutive days over 43 degrees (4) and the highest minimum (33.9) the water was like a bath.

The kids loved it and they were in and out of the water all afternoon not having to worry about getting cold.

Amira has really taken to the water this summer and her confidence in the water has improved dramatically.

Someone missing :(

Once the beach was overcrowded we headed to the playground for fish and chips. So as not to make Dad look like good cop we had fruit for desert instead of ice cream.

On Saturday we went to the park with Uncle Stuart, Auntie Kelly and Leia. A newly discovered park in Burnside - complete with a wading pool for the kids!

There are a few flat boulders in the middle, the kids had a ball climbing up and jumping off.

Even Leia got in on the action with a little coaxing from Stuart.

Again we retired to the playground before heading home. Isaac was excited Leia let him borrow her bug catcher and he was over the moon when we actually caught a bug to put in it!

By Sunday it had actually cooled down enough to venture outside before 5pm. We went to Linear park to go cycling with Isaac's friend Oscar and his sister Meg. Meg and Amira are hiding in the bike trailer.

The boys did a great job riding up and down the hills and both won the race for champion of the universe on several occasions.

Amira and Meg had the best seat in the house, getting towed most of the day. They ventured out to play at the playground and have a scoot now and then.

Kirst arrived home safe and sound on Sunday night much to the joy of the Kids. Stay tuned for her photos from her girls weekend in Perth.

One last quick post from me as I unload all my camera pics in preparation for my Girl's Weekend Away!!

What I will miss over the three days;

(and in chronological order of accquisition)

Gunny. I don't have a decent photo of him yet.

The dog. (Soon to be 2 dogs in May!)

Sulky #1.

Cheeky #2.

Zac wants to come with me; Amira wants me to bring her presents!
I will miss you all!!!!*
(*For at least five minutes on departure and a minimum of 1 minute per day thereafter.)

Well I know Gunny said his last post was the last of the Canberra photos... but... well let's just say it's not the first time a man has been wrong. ;)

We visited both Questacon (with Nonie) and the War Memorial (with Jac) whilst we were there.

This was taken with the 16mm fisheye, isn't it a fantastic lens!

Just to show a comparison, this was taken with the Tamron 28-75.

They are both great lenses but I am loving the way the fisheye makes subjects pop out a bit! The second photo just looks so flat (a function of the longer focal length as well I think).

OK, less technical talk, more photos! This is the famous "G for George" Lancaster bomber which is a permanent resident of the Memorial.

This is part of the "Over the Front" display, which includes, get this, the left boot of the infamous Red Baron! How cool is that!!

I also purchased a speedlight (SB600) in anticipation of several weddings planned for this year! It is fantastic and I should have bought one ages ago. This was me trying it out on Zac!

Zac loves climging trees... you all thought I was kidding when I call him my little monkey... well he couldn't wait to show off for Great Grandpa, and shimmied up the trunk of this one. The leaves are so thick, all you see is a rustle and then pop! out comes Zac's smiling head at the top. Classic!

This last photo shows the amazing light and colours after one of the violent thunderstorms we had late one evening. It was so eerie, but stunning at the same time.
OK that is definitely the last of the Canberra photos!!!! :)
Hope you have all enjoyed them, and remember it's easy to comment and say hi without registering (just select anonymous and say who you are if you want us to know!).
