HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUNNY!

We didn't have the camera out much this week. The kids and I flew to Canberra for a few days as I found some cheap flights earlier this year. Yay!!!

Anyway here are the kids helping to make chocolate brownies before we left. Amira was not happy about all the chocolate going into the mix...

At the airport - "Plane!"

Great Grandpa reading a story to Amira. She fished out the book from her bag, handed it to him, then walked over the the couch and waited for him to sit down and start reading!

The kids at the park near Nana's. I have no idea what this is (and I hope the wombat did not end up in a stew?!).

Zac and the Ginormous Leaf.

After visiting Michael at work we ducked down to Weston Park for a quick play before flying home. Amira loved seeing the kangaroos!

Canberra sure is stunning in the winter.

Thank you very much to Nana & Michael, and Jacqui & Andrew, for having us to stay! :)

It has been a crazy week. Gunny returned from Cocos Island only to be sent to Perth a few days later!

Thank goodness for their nanny, Carol. She has been dressing up the kids by the looks of it... every day I come home to new paintings, sculptures, songs, and words. She is great!

Wednesday I booked in for a long overdue haircut on my day off while Zac was at kindy, so Judy came over to mind Amira.

Little did I know that Amira had found my credit card, and posted it in the washing basket!!! I had to postpone the appointment because I didn't find it in time... cheeky girl!

Zac wants to be cheeky too...!

I think it's time for another trip!

Zac has got to be one of the luckiest boys in the world. Last week, I had a spare seat on the King Air on an overnight trip to Canberra. Well all it took was a bit of research & some paperwork, and then I had one very excited little boy...

... who was so excited that he wore himself out before we arrived! Mind you, with leather reclining seats like this, who could blame him?

Zac loved the trip, he was so well behaved and had the rest of the passengers in stitches half the flight. I think the cheekiest thing he said was to one of the ground handlers in the departure lounge; the marshaller asked Zac if he could see the plane, and Zac replied, "Which one, the Hercules or the King Air?" The guy was gobsmacked and I nearly died trying not to laugh!

We saw Jacqui, Nonie and Murray, and even found time for the Sushi Train.

Meanwhile poor Amira stayed home battling a double ear infection... I thought it was her teeth at first, thank goodness I managed to get her in at the doctor's before I left. She is fine now!

Waiting for Dad.

Then of course Zac wanted the spotlight too!

We have been rugging up and walking in this beautiful clear (but cold) winter weather.

The kids are glad to be outdoors.

They love being outside and up trees!

"Oh no! Mum has the camera out again! What ever shall we do...?"

POSERS!!!

I spent 3 days travelling with the Army including one night in Charters Towers - lucky me! - and one in Townsville. Enough to crank up the Mother Guilt to present-buying level, anyway.

So here's Amira in her new sunnies!

Zac in a SIDS for Kids red nose. He is way too excited over what amounts to a bit of foam! Not to mention the empty box.

Another present - suction cap frogs, ideal for sticking to the bottom of bath tubs, but better suited in this house to being thrown against the glass bricks in competition of getting the highest flung frog! In all seriousness though - Zac won!

Dot & Pete got back from Japan so the kids had even more gifts!!! They are so spoiled. Dot bought Amira this divine kimono style wrap, and Zac got a remote control Mario in a race kart, amongst other things! Like this miniature umbrella...

"Alright, who's doing the coffee run today? I'll have a babycino, extra chocolate sprinkles thanks."

Zac shows Amira how it's done, Buzz Lightyear style - "To infinity, and beyond!"

So until next week...
