Road trip!!!

We drove to Rosebud for my friend Becky's hens night! It was a wild weekend with lots of driving. We turned Amira's car seat around and that kept her happy for most of the trip.

The perfect view...

Zac absolutely delighted that Daddy let him steer in the caravan park at 5km/hr!

Amira whacking on the window, wanting to escape the car! This was while we were parked waiting for the ferry.

The kids were very glad to see the beach after such a long trip in the car.

Amira hasn't been for a while - "What is this sand stuff... More importantly, what does it taste like??" Amira takes a mouthful of sand! Yuk.

Meanwhile Zac was off!

See ya later....!

Now that both kids are proficient in using straws, drinking chocolate milk suddenly turns competitive!!!

After all the sand it was definitely bath time.

One game the kids both play is peek-a-boo! Here's Amira in Zac's tent.... boo!

And Zac in the playground at the caravan park where we stayed.

Amira is now pulling herself up on everything! It is strange to walk into her room and see her standing in the cot.

She starts half-days at Zac's childcare centre next week. I think she's ready for it!

Last photo from the trip - we finally find a place to put Gunny......!!!!! :)

Our little girl is growing up!

Amira started crawling and got her first tooth all in the same week!!!

Here she is, 9 months to the day, finally going forward on all fours.

2 little monkeys in a portacot...

Sitting pretty in a knitted pink cardigan and new pants!

Zac and I made a chocolate cake for Gunny to eat over the weekend that we were away.

Then we were off to Canberra for the weekend.

This time I took the kids to Questacon!

Mini-Q was a big hit. The Earthquake simulator... not so much!

Here's Zac in the under-the-sea part...

... and Amira playing at the baby's water table! They even provided aprons, although that did not stop her getting wet...

Zac found not one but TWO lobsters! He was delighted.

We also farewelled Jac and Andrew on their 5 week holiday!

Hey, I finally found some instructions for kids!!!!

3 days until our next adventure!

I have been spring cleaning!

Finally sorted through a lot of Zac's old clothes (size 0 and 1) and found some stuff for Amira for summer. Here she is in her 'new' PJs. Zac immediately had to put on his matching blue doggie jamies as well (and give his 2 pairs of Spiderman pajamas a rest!!!).

This bike was one of my favourites as a kid... never dreamed I would be buying one for my own children even five years ago! Of course my two love it as well although Amira can only scoot backwards.

Us having cuddles! Me with a new cut & colour. Amira with new hair, full stop!

I heard a commotion coming from Zac's room and this is what I found... there is a child in there somewhere...

"I tried to bury Amira in toys but she didn't like it, Mum!" said Zac. Hmm, maybe she is scared we will mistake her for a doll and tidy her away?!

Father's Day Weekend!

On Friday Tayla had to have her front canine tooth removed as she had damaged it some time ago, we're not sure how.

Saturday, the kids had their swimming class!

When I said kids, I meant Zac and Amira! Zac was going so fast all his photos were blurry.

Zac was very excited about Father's day and asked me all week "Is it today?" Then when Sunday finally arrived, he kept asking "Is it still Father's Day now?" Isn't every day...?! :)

Daddy's little monkeys...

Here they are, plotting their escape from the monkey cage...

I started a new knitting project too. I learnt from the first one that surprisingly, as a sewer, I was really bad at seams. So I am knitting Zac's pair of leggings in the round which is all very exciting. Here they are being tried on, half finished - they are a snug fit so Zac must be growing faster than I can knit!!!

Sunday night Stuart, Kelly, Leia and Judy came for dinner and we played Gunny's Fathers Day present - Scrabble! Unfortunately, the one thing the kids didn't include with the game was a guarantee of winning it... Gunny was beaten by his mum! (Actually we all were!)

The last piece of news - meet Wilson, Dot's new puppy! We thought he was named after the cute doctor on House but it turns out he was named after the volleyball on Castaway.

Zac had a few cuddles...

... but Wilson was more interested in playing with Amira! The fascination seemed to be mutual.

Hope you all had a great weekend.
