Two week's worth of blog!
We spent last week in Canberra. Happy 21st Birthday Nonie!!!
I flew up with the kids a week earlier than Gunny. It was very tempting to put these two in my suitcase so that I could enjoy a peaceful flight! The kids think I am joking...
The big night! All dressed up for the party.
My two sisters Nonie and Jac with Amira.
Great-Grandma and Grandpa came down for the weekend as well.
All the girls at play!
Zac telling GGma and GGpa about his "pwuggle".
The kids go swimming in Nana's bath!
"Hey good lookin'!" Amira has fun with the baby in the mirror!
We went and saw Shrek 3 as well. Doesn't she make a cute baby ogre!
Zac took this picture of us!
We gave Gunny his birthday present a bit early so that we could all play with it! Gunny doesn't seem to mind...
Of course, all the fun had to end sometime. I came crashing back to reality today to this, among other things. I hate Mondays!
L to R: Oscar, Kendall, Daniel & Meg, Tammy & Jessica, Dave & Joshua, Me & Amira, Gunny & Zac.
Tammy, who we met through Zac's kindergym, invited us up to their "block" at Truro to camp for the long weekend. It was a pretty sweet setup, with running water and a genny!
The 3 Amigos...! Oscar, Zac and Joshua all aboard their vehicles of choice. Yes, Zac liked the pink electric barbie car....
Zac on Joshua's quad. He surprised us all by jumping straight on and taking off!
We have finally taken the next cyber step - here's a very short (4 sec) video clip!
He looked kinda scared when he was actually riding it but he kept getting back on and going for bigger and faster rides. He liked turning corners super-fast! There were a few heart-stopping moments when he left the steering until the last possible moment... hence the rope on the back for adults to veto potentially bad decisions!
There were a few big kids riding too... :)
Zac and Joshua have a stand off!
Meanwhile back at camp, their little sisters are doing the exact same thing! Jessica is 6 weeks older than Amira.
A big thankyou to Tammy and her whole family for having us all. We had an AWESOME time! As we left Zac said, "I've been a good boy, can we go back? Tomorrow?"
The 3 boys earlier in the week, hanging out in Zac's partially built cubby.
We had more cat dramas this week. Gunny installed a cat door so that Angel has free run of the wild outdoors as is fitting for His Lordship. However he came in the other day after what looked like an altercation involving the creek as he was FILTHY and dripping wet... so yep, you guessed it... bath time!!!
"You're gonna put this on the internet, aren't you..."
Angel was not impressed. As you can see I wasn't all that sympathetic either!! I was trying not to laugh because he sulks afterwards.... he he he!
Gunny and the kids showing Angel that baths aren't really all that bad...
Project updates! Mine:
Gunny's:
As you can clearly see, Gunny is cheating like mad to finish before I do. I think child labour is stooping a bit low even for him though.

Amira is sitting up now!
She can sit for about a minute before she gets bored and makes a grab for something out of reach. Then she kinda stacks it in slow motion, usually face planting with her arms pinned under her body.
Dot and Peter came over for dinner Tuesday night. Here they are reading one of Zac's favourite books. It must be the scary bit judging by the look on Zac's face!
And Dot holding Princess Crankypants. Most evenings she doesn't like being cuddled by anyone except me! We are having a laugh as she sticks out her bottom lip just before she starts to cry.
The little rascal managed to ruin our Friday night too - Gunny and I went out for dinner for a work function in town, but I had to come home before even the entrees were served! Of course Amira was all smiles as soon as she was in my arms. How can I be cross when she is so cute though?!
Our creek has been like this on & off for weeks now. It has been great to have some rain!
Zac has been practicing riding his bike most days too (with a little encouragement!). He is getting quite good on the driveway. He gets a bit stuck going up hills.
Progress continues on Zac's cubby house despite all the rain!
And here is my next project! Can you guess what it will be?
(And no, I have never knitted before, so you may not guess right even when you are looking at the finished product!!!)
